Paystub Template
A modern statement built from rounded shapes: every label and every figure sits in its own soft-edged cell.

A dark rounded bar carries the “Earnings Statement” title, with the period start and end in lighter capsules on its right. The employer and the employee sit in two rounded panels, centered, and a row of capsules below gives the pay date, SSN, employee ID, stub number, frequency, filing status and how the pay was made.
The Earnings grid (hours, rate, current, year to date) and the Taxes and deductions grid (current, year to date) have dark rounded headers and share the same columns, so the figures line up. Each line’s label and amounts are separate rounded cells. Net pay closes the page in dark filled capsules, with any reimbursement just above it and the memo in a rounded box below.

Best for
People who want something that looks current and app-like rather than a traditional form, such as gig workers, creators and small studios. Keeping each figure in its own cell also makes a long list of lines easier to scan.
Overview
The Capsule Earnings Statement Template is a modern cards layout: rounded cards or tiles, with net pay as a card or bar. A dark rounded title bar, pay facts in capsules, and every label and figure in its own rounded cell, with net pay in filled capsules.
From top to bottom it runs rounded title bar with period start and end, employer and employee panels, pay facts in capsules and earnings grid with gross taxable pay, and then the rest of the stub. You fill it in once in the builder, the taxes and totals are worked out for you, and the finished earnings statement downloads as a PDF.

Section by section
It opens the Capsule. The title block names the document and carries its reference details. Keep stub numbers in sequence from one pay date to the next, as a payroll run would.
The second block on the Capsule. Both sides of the payment in one place: the payer (company name, address, EIN) and the person paid (name, address, ID and the SSN masked to its last four digits). On the Capsule they sit together, so who paid whom reads in one glance.
The third block on the Capsule. Period start and end, pay date and frequency. On the Capsule these read as the stub’s facts, so a reader can match it to a bank deposit before reading the figures.
The fourth block on the Capsule. Each kind of pay on its own line: regular hours, overtime, bonus, commission or tips, with rate and hours where they apply. Rate × hours should equal each current amount, and the lines add up to gross pay.
The fifth block on the Capsule. Taxes and deductions. The Capsule lists federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare, any state or local tax, and the deductions you add by name. Their total is what separates gross pay from net pay.
It closes the Capsule. Net pay, the amount actually paid: gross pay minus every tax and deduction above, plus any non-taxable reimbursement. It should match the deposit to the cent.

Colours
The Capsule comes in Flint grey, Slate grey, Steel blue, Ink, Harbor blue, Spruce, Berry and Black & white, with Flint grey as its standard colour. The colour you choose recolours the accents (card headers, tinted totals and the net pay bar); the figures and layout stay the same, and every colour is included in the price.
Document type
“Earnings statement” is the title many payroll departments print on the same document others call a pay stub or pay slip. The Capsule is drawn as a statement (a titled page with the period and the figures laid out formally), but it holds exactly what a pay stub holds: who was paid, for which period, gross pay, each tax and deduction, net pay and the year to date.
Best use
The Capsule breaks the stub into cards with totals that stand out, which reads well on a small screen and in a PDF viewer.
The Capsule prints the full set of withholding lines (federal, Social Security, Medicare, state) for a W-2 employee’s stub.
The Capsule’s statement title and layout suit a stub that is filed with other paperwork or handed to someone else.
Compare
The Capsule belongs to the Modern cards family, with Classic Blue, Detailed Blue, Tile Grid and Banner Card. They share the same overall order; what sets the Capsule apart is a dark rounded title bar, pay facts in capsules, and every label and figure in its own rounded cell, with net pay in filled capsules.

Print and PDF
Rounded cards and tinted totals carry the colour you pick, so it looks best printed in colour or opened as a PDF on a screen; in black and white the cards still keep their borders. The PDF is made from the same layout you see in the preview, so what you check is what you get.
Need several periods? The multi-stub builder makes consecutive stubs in this layout with year-to-date totals carried forward, and the sample pay stub walks through every line with real figures.

How it works
Open the builder with the Capsule already selected (the “Use This Template” button does this).
Enter the company and the person paid; the business prints in the “Rounded title bar with period start and end” block.
Add the pay period, pay date and each kind of pay; the lines fill “Earnings grid with gross taxable pay”.
Check the estimated taxes and add your own deductions (they print in “Earnings grid with gross taxable pay”); every amount can be edited.
Pick a colour (Flint grey, Slate grey and Steel blue or another), preview the whole stub, then download the PDF.
