Advanced pay stub builder

Advanced Pay Stub Generator

The advanced pay stub generator is the PayStubGo builder with the multi-stub controls switched on. Enter the pay details once and it produces up to twelve consecutive pay periods in a single PDF, with the pay dates, check numbers and year-to-date totals stepped from one stub to the next.

Every field of the standard builder is there too: overtime, extra earnings lines such as tips or shift differential, paid time off, custom deductions, manual year-to-date figures and an optional deposit slip page. Advanced means more pay periods in one go, not a different kind of pay stub.

First stub free each year (emailed) · then $2.99 each · any template · preview before you pay

This page covers one use of the PayStubGo paystub generator. That page shows how each tax line is worked out.

Who this is for

  • Anyone who needs two, three or more consecutive pay stubs for the same job
  • Small employers catching up on stubs for several past pay periods
  • Self-employed people recording a quarter of regular pay in one sitting
  • Workers whose pay varied from period to period and who need each stub to show its own hours

What the advanced builder adds

Several pay periods from one form

Choose a stub count of up to twelve. Company, employee and tax setup are entered once and carried to every stub.

Dates and check numbers step back

Each earlier stub gets its own pay date and pay period, moved back by the pay frequency you chose, and its own check number.

Year-to-date that adds up

Enter the year-to-date figures for the latest stub and each earlier stub shows the running total as it stood at that pay date.

Taxes worked out per period

With automatic estimates on, each stub's taxes are calculated from that period's own wages, pay date and prior year-to-date, not copied from the latest stub.

Override any single stub

Open a stub's overrides to change its dates, check number, hours and rate or salary, overtime, bonus, commission, reimbursement or year-to-date figures.

Deposit slip included from the small pack

The optional deposit slip page is included at no charge from three stubs upwards.

Example: three biweekly stubs from one set of details

A worker paid every two weeks enters the latest pay date, the hourly rate and the usual hours, and sets the stub count to three. The builder lays out:

Stub 1 (latest)Pay date as entered · hours and rate as entered
Stub 2Pay date 14 days earlier · check number one lower
Stub 3Pay date 28 days earlier · check number two lower
Year-to-dateHighest on stub 1, lower on each earlier stub
A week with overtimeOpen that stub's overrides and change its hours

Dates step back by the pay frequency: 7 days for weekly, 14 for biweekly, one month for monthly. Every auto-filled value can be overridden.

Make an advanced pay stub in three steps

  1. Step 1

Fill in the latest pay period

Company, employee, pay date, pay frequency, earnings and deductions, exactly as for a single stub.

  2. Step 2

    Set the stub count

Pick how many consecutive periods you need. Review each earlier stub and override anything that differed in that period.

  3. Step 3

    Preview every stub, then download

Step through the stubs in the preview, then download them together as one PDF.

Earnings and deduction lines you can add

Beyond regular pay and overtime, the builder has fields for bonus, commission and reimbursement, and you can add extra earnings lines with your own label.

Custom deductions take a label, an amount, an optional year-to-date figure and a before-tax or after-tax setting, so a retirement contribution lowers the wages the tax estimate is based on while a garnishment does not.

Extra earnings types
Tips, shift differential, double time, on-call pay, retro pay, pto payout, per diem, and other. Up to six extra lines per stub.
Paid time off
Vacation, sick, PTO and holiday hours taken in the period, shown as their own earnings lines.
Common deductions
401(k), 403(b), Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, HSA, FSA, Roth 401(k), Garnishment, Union dues, and Loan repayment, or type your own label.

What "advanced" does not mean

The advanced builder does not run payroll, file taxes or verify anything. It lays out the pay you enter for each period and estimates withholding; the figures are yours to check against what was actually paid.

A run of consecutive stubs is a record of consecutive real payments. If a period was not worked or not paid, it should not have a stub.

Questions

What is an advanced pay stub?

On PayStubGo it is a pay stub made in the advanced builder, which adds multi-stub controls to the standard form: up to twelve consecutive pay periods in one PDF, with dates, check numbers and year-to-date totals stepped between them and per-stub overrides.

Can the pay stub generator show year to date?

Yes. Year-to-date fields are optional in both builders. In the advanced builder each earlier stub in a run shows the year-to-date as it stood at that pay date, and you can override any stub's figures.

Is there an advanced pay stub template?

There is no separate template. All twenty-eight templates work in the advanced builder, and you can switch between them in the preview.

Can each stub have different hours or overtime?

Yes. Each additional stub starts as a copy of the first and has its own overrides for hours, rate or salary, overtime, bonus, commission and reimbursement.

How many pay stubs can I make at once?

Up to twelve consecutive pay periods in one export. The 3-stub pack and 6-stub pack are the priced packs; other counts are priced on the same ladder and shown before checkout.

Is the deposit slip included?

From three stubs upwards the deposit slip page is included at no charge. On smaller orders it is an optional add-on priced at checkout.

Does PayStubGo verify my employment or income?

No. PayStubGo builds a pay stub from the numbers you enter; it does not verify employment, income, or tax figures, and it is not payroll, accounting, or legal advice. Enter accurate information — presenting false income to a landlord or lender is fraud.
