It opens the Professional Classic. The Professional Classic names the business here: company name, address, and the EIN and phone if you give them. A logo, when you upload one, sits in this block.
Paystub Template
Use the Professional Classic pay stub template to create a traditional pay stub layout with earnings, deductions, taxes, YTD values, and net pay summary.

Built on the Default layout: the same company block, the “Earnings Statement” title with stub number, frequency and filing status, and the same four-column header row for the employee, SSN, pay period and pay date.
The difference is in the tables. Earnings and deductions each sit under their own blue header bar, with gross pay and total deductions as closing rows, and a separate year-to-date block lists YTD gross, YTD deductions and YTD net pay above this period’s total, deductions and net pay.

Best for
People who want the traditional payroll look with clearer section headings than the Default. The blue headers make it quick to find where earnings end and deductions begin, which helps when a stub has many lines.
Overview
The Professional Classic Pay Stub Template is a classic grid layout: full-width info grid, earnings and deductions side by side. Payroll-table layout built on the Default, with blue section headers over the earnings and deductions tables.
From top to bottom it runs company block with phone and EIN, title row: stub number, pay frequency and filing status, header row: employee, SSN, pay period, pay date and earnings table under a blue header, closed by gross pay, and then the rest of the stub. You fill it in once in the builder, the taxes and totals are worked out for you, and the finished pay stub downloads as a PDF.

Section by section
It opens the Professional Classic. The Professional Classic names the business here: company name, address, and the EIN and phone if you give them. A logo, when you upload one, sits in this block.
The second block on the Professional Classic. The document’s name and reference: the title the Professional Classic prints, with the stub number and, where the layout has them here, the pay frequency and filing status. A unique stub number makes each copy easy to refer to.
The third block on the Professional Classic. Period start and end, pay date and frequency. On the Professional Classic these read as the stub’s facts, so a reader can match it to a bank deposit before reading the figures.
The fourth block on the Professional Classic. Each kind of pay on its own line: regular hours, overtime, bonus, commission or tips, with rate and hours where they apply. Rate × hours should equal each current amount, and the lines add up to gross pay.
The fifth block on the Professional Classic. Taxes and deductions. The Professional Classic lists federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare, any state or local tax, and the deductions you add by name. Their total is what separates gross pay from net pay.
It closes the Professional Classic. Year-to-date figures: the running totals for the calendar year, including this stub. They should grow by exactly this period’s amounts from one stub to the next.

The tax lines are estimated from the pay, frequency, filing status and state you enter, and you can change any of them. How paycheck taxes are calculated explains each one, and the pay stub glossary defines every abbreviation on the stub.
Colours
The Professional Classic comes in Royal blue, Navy, Tide blue, Lagoon, Emerald, Plum, Ember red and Black & white, with Royal blue as its standard colour. The colour you choose recolours the accents (header bars and section rules); the figures and layout stay the same, and every colour is included in the price.
Document type
The Professional Classic is laid out as a pay stub: the short, practical record that comes with a paycheck or direct deposit. Payroll systems also call the same record an earnings statement or pay slip; the contents do not change with the name: who was paid, for which period, gross pay, each tax and deduction, net pay and the year to date.
Best use
The Professional Classic keeps the classic grid order (details across the top, earnings beside deductions), the layout most people already know from payroll stubs.
The Professional Classic prints the full set of withholding lines (federal, Social Security, Medicare, state) for a W-2 employee’s stub.
The Professional Classic prints year-to-date figures in “Year-to-date block and this period’s totals with net pay”, so a run of consecutive stubs shows the year building up period by period.
Compare
The Professional Classic belongs to the Classic grid family, with Default, Refined Blue, Minimal Professional and Two Band Header. They share the same overall order; what sets the Professional Classic apart is payroll-table layout built on the Default, with blue section headers over the earnings and deductions tables.

Print and PDF
The full-width grid fills a letter page edge to edge, so it prints clearly in black and white and stays readable when photocopied or scanned. The PDF is made from the same layout you see in the preview, so what you check is what you get.
Need several periods? The multi-stub builder makes consecutive stubs in this layout with year-to-date totals carried forward, and the sample pay stub walks through every line with real figures.

How it works
Open the builder with the Professional Classic already selected (the “Use This Template” button does this).
Enter the company and the person paid; the business prints in the “Company block with phone and EIN” block.
Add the pay period, pay date and each kind of pay; the lines fill “Earnings table under a blue header, closed by gross pay”.
Check the estimated taxes and add your own deductions (they print in “Deductions table under a blue header, closed by total deductions”); every amount can be edited.
Pick a colour (Royal blue, Navy and Tide blue or another), preview the whole stub, then download the PDF.
